Not A Survivor

I’m not a survivor

if I’m still surviving.

You can’t call a person, drowning,

a survivor

if they’re still drowning

in an abyss of black sea.

Sure, I’ve got a raft-

but it can break and crush

from the force of tides and wind-

and I know that all too well.

Everyday is being on a raft in stormy seas,

you never know when, or where,

the tip will dive into the ice.

And once you’re in,

it’s hard to swim out.
